2024 is election year for our club
Every even year is election year for all five of our elected board officers. An election is held only if there is more than one candidate for an office.

Nominations
The first step in the election process is to convene a five-person nominating committee. This committee is elected at the February meeting. It is the committee’s job to find qualified and willing nominees for each office. The committee gives its report to the membership at the March meeting and then retires.
After the meeting, members may make nominations by contacting the election committee up until the morning of the April meeting or from the floor at the April meeting.
Election
As soon as the nomination phase is over, we will know if we need to hold an election.
An election is needed only if there is more than one candidate for an office. The election is only for those offices that have multiple candidates. If there is only one candidate for an office, they are declared elected by acclamation at the April meeting.
The election procedure is described in our standing rules, in section 8. We can hold the election in person, via mail, or with an election app.
Election Committee
The election process is managed by a three-person election committee. The committee is appointed by the president and approved by the board before the close of the nomination phase. The committee is on standby until we know if there will be an election. If there is to be an election, the election committee immediately distributes the ballots.
Once the election is concluded, the election committee counts the votes and reports the results. The newly elected board officers are installed at the June membership meeting.
